Custom Collaborative Welcomes Dana Davis as a New Board Member

With excitement and anticipation of great things coming, Custom Collaborative welcomes Dana Davis as a new Board member. Currently serving as Vice President of Sustainability, Product, and Business Strategy at Mara Hoffman, Dana possesses invaluable experience in leading conversations on sustainability with stakeholders in the industry. From ensuring that all materials are ethically sourced to making the entire supply chain transparent – her leadership in pivoting the fashion world toward responsible consumption would assert Custom Collaborative as a known factor in building opportunities for women in sustainable fashion.

"I have been so inspired by the work of Custom Collaborative, the women they serve, and Ngozi Okaro's leadership, and look forward to supporting them in their sustainability journey even further."

As a long-standing supporter of the organization, Dana has been instrumental in building education opportunities for the Custom Collaborative community. Prior to her joining the Board of Directors, Custom Collaborative and Mara Hoffman have collaborated on multiple projects, including a 6-week Apprenticeship Pilot Program with One x One. Three participants received technical design, career training, and wellness education. Following the program, one apprentice entered and won a design competition, allowing her designs to be produced in collaboration with a Pakistan-based fashion company.

While many agents in the fashion industry perceive sustainability as a popular yet short-lived buzzword, Custom Collaborative remains committed to its vision. In a global women's apparel industry, the garment makers must be fairly compensated for their labor. On the other side, consumers deserve access to well-made, sustainably sourced clothes that fit and affirm all bodies. Custom Collaborative's Board of Directors includes experts in many diverse industries who bridge their knowledge and resources to advise and steer Custom Collaborative forward.
