Stephanie Virissimo - Alumni Coordinator

Stephanie Virissimo is a freelance fashion professional focused on merging style, sustainability, and social impact. Inspired by the problem of textile waste, she launched her personal styling business in 2021 to help people of all income levels embrace mindful consumption and curated thrifted wardrobes. To deepen her craft, Stephanie completed Custom Collaborative’s Training Institute, where she learned garment construction and began offering mending and upcycling services. Shortly after, she was selected for an apprenticeship with Theory, a global fashion brand based in New York City where she worked in the {insert department or team}. Her final project involved upcycling the brand’s damaged garments into fresh, wearable pieces. Stephanie’s work is grounded in her commitment to sustainability and social justice, with particular attention to racial equity, gender justice, and fair wages in the fashion industry. In 2025, she joined Custom Collaborative as an Alumni Coordinator intern, where she is energized by supporting and connecting artisans within the community. She also leads botanical dye workshops to further promote circularity and creativity in how people approach their wardrobes.
